Political & Social Dialogue Group
At PMA Health, we understand that we are all living in a time of polarizing and heightened political and social tension that can feel frightening, confusing, hopeful , and deeply personal. …..Our Political and Social Therapy Group provides a supportive space for participants to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences in relation to our current political and social climate. Through the lens of Gestalt therapy, we aim to facilitate personal growth, self-awareness, and positive change.
About This Group
Why Gestalt Group Therapy?
The Gestalt approach transforms the group into a living "social microcosm," providing a vital space to process the weight of modern social and political stress through the lens of immediate, lived experience. Rather than debating abstract ideologies, members explore how systemic tensions—such as polarization, inequality, and all socio-cultural dynamics—manifest physically and effect our ability to connect to ourselves and others in the here and now. By fostering authentic connections across diverse perspectives, the group helps individuals move from a state of paralyzed "environmental desensitization" to one of active, integrated awareness. This process empowers participants to reclaim their agency, replacing overwhelming collective dread with a grounded sense of self & other support and expand your capacity for meaningful, responsible contact with the world around them.
Group Size and Dynamics
Our therapy group is limited to 8-10 participants (21+ years old) to ensure an intimate and supportive environment. This allows for meaningful interactions and personalized attention. Participants do not need to be existing clients of PMA Health, and all backgrounds are welcome.
